New York Jets Football Schedule

Year in and year out, the AFC East is one of the toughest divisions in the National Football League. That's what makes the New York Jets football schedule so challenging. Every year, the Jets play home and road games against the Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins, and the New England Patriots. While the Dolphins have experienced several down years lately, they have traditionally been a difficult opponent for New York. The Jets hold a slight 40-38-1 advantage in the all time series, and are 5-3 against Miami under current coach Herman Edwards. Buffalo has a 49-40 edge over the Jets, although "Gang Green" has won five of the last eight match-ups between the two squads. And although the Jets lead the all-time series with the Patriots, 47-42-1, they have dropped four straight games to the three-time Super Bowl champions entering the 2005 seasons. One thing is for sure -- anything can happen when two AFC East teams play each other.

New York Jets Football Schedule 2005

The 2005 New York Jets football schedule kicks off with a road game against the Kansas City Chiefs on September 11. From there, the Jets return to the Meadowlands for back-to-back home games against the Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars. October kicks off with a trip to Baltimore for a clash with the Ravens on the 2nd, then New York hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 9. Afterwards, the Jets travel to Buffalo and Atlanta before their bye week on October 30. November's opponents include the San Diego Chargers, the Carolina Panthers, the Denver Broncos and the New Orleans Saints. New York doesn't meet New England until December 4, and then they meet the Patriots again just two weeks later in the midst of a three-game, season-ending marathon against all three of their AFC Eastern Division rivals. The thus-far unmentioned game? A Week 14 home contest with the Oakland Raiders.
